I've been talking about negative stuff too often. There are plenty of wonderful things in this world. But since it's too hot to go outside today, I'll focus on some the wonderful things of the online world.
The internet is full of wonderful tools and services. These are the tools and services I wish everyone used:
1. Password safe.
This amazing little program ensures you'll never forget how to log into any of your accounts ever again. It creates a file that stores lists of accounts (along with the password and more) however you see fit to arrange them. It locks the file with one master password, which I suggest you make fairly strong. xkcd.com/936/

2. Gmail and Google+.
It's no secret that I love Google, but I have my reasons. Gmail is a great email service. Plus in this current day, an email address ending in "@gmail.com" clearly belongs to someone whom knows their way around the Internet. Additionally, with a Gmail account, you can sign up for Google+ account linked to it. Google+ is pretty much built to be a hub for the internet. It comes with a youtube account and enough tools from Google to make a Swiss army knife jealous.
Google+ is probably the best social media site to date [opinion]. I could go on for hours talking about how great the site is and how to use it. But luckily a handy book has already been written.

The format of Google+ has changed a bit since this was written, but the same principles remain. While I normally hate simplistic user interfaces, Google does theirs well so they don't cut out any features for the user.
The thing about social media sites is that they need users to make them active and great. I'm sure you're all using facebook, but try google+ as well.
I reccommend making two accounts. One will be for your online persona (or fursona) and another separate one for your real life stuff. Balancing two accounts might seem difficult, but Google makes it really easy if you use their browser. Personally I use my real life account in Google Chrome and have the other account open in firefox.

3. Firefox.
It's a great browser with a big support community behind it. Tons of useful extensions and it's the shining gem of open source. Not much else to say about it other than it's awesome.

4. Weasyl.
If you're my friend, I'm assuming you're a furry or at least have a Deviant Art account. But most furries who are into art use Furaffinity. It's a functional site that's popular, but it doesn't offer much more than that. In fact of all the furry art sites, it has the fewest user tools and features. It doesn't look like they'll be improving any time soon.
But a new art site is here, Weasyl! It's goal is to cater to furries and non-furry artists in a single website. While they don't have the amazing setup the DA has, they have lots of potential. They already provide more features than FA, but they need more users. So if you like furry artwork, please give Weasyl a chance. It deserves more users and content.

5. IMO
I like to chat with friends online, but unfortunately, not everyone uses the same great instant messenger. IMO is an IM account that aggregates your other IM accounts into it. It supports MSN, Yahoo, google chat, AIM, skype (but it's been having issues with skype lately), steam, and many more!
It works as a page in your browser and serves as a great hub for instant messaging.
6. Mailstore
It should be obvious I have a lot of email accounts by now. And cleaning out email is a pain. It's way too time consuming to figure out what is important. Plus if you need to find an email about something, you've got to search through all your email accounts. Well mailstore takes care of that. It archives all your emails into one place. It's very handy.

If you're interested in finding me on some of these accounts, here is the info for that.
